The two maps illustrate the changes that have taken place on an island between 1980 and the present day.
Overall, the once uninhabited island has been transformed into a tourist resort featuring accommodation, a restaurant, reception area, and transport facilities. While the natural environment has been partly preserved, human construction now dominates most parts of the island.
In 1980, the island was completely natural, containing only a few groups of trees and a beach on the western side. There were no buildings, roads, or other structures. The area was surrounded by the sea, and its central and eastern parts were covered with vegetation. Today, major developments have taken place. A designated swimming area is constructed in the western part of the island at the beach and several accommodation huts linked by footpaths. The central part, which was previously empty, now includes the reception and a restaurant, both connected by vehicle tracks. The restaurant is located to the north of the reception.
Further changes are visible on the eastern side, where more accommodation units have been built. These are also connected by paths, forming a circular layout. A pier has been constructed on the southern coast to allow boats to transport visitors to and from the island. Despite these developments, some trees in the northern and southeastern areas have been preserved to maintain the island’s natural beauty.
