Overall, the city was a small town with few features suurounding it. However, there are now a range of premises that has enabled the town undergo a paradigm shift and become more developed.
To begin with, the city centre remained in the same location though a bie rental scheme has been added to it. In addition, the university remained in the same location although the trees on its East have been cleared and a new shopping centre erected. Morever, a hall of residence and a new train station have been constructed to its west and south respectively.
The older road which was initially used by vehicles has now been converted into a pedestrian way. To the left and right of the port are restaurants, bar and clubs. Furthermore, the old market has been abolished and a new one built within the same locality. To add on, a new covered market is now available at a close proximity to the city centre.
