The maps illustrate the enhancement a city centre has undergone from 2000 to the present.
Overall, the centre layout has changed considerably, with new developments cater to residential needs such as a hall, restaurant, shopping mall, new markets, bars and clubs. Meanwhile, the university, train station, and the city centre remained unaltered or experienced some neglectable changes.
As illustrated, several new constructions have been introduced in the present-day centre layout. In the south, a restaurant, bars and clubs have been built adjacent to the city centre port. Passing the pedestrian only sidewalk, a new market and shop were installed, with the latter replacing the previous market. Moreover, a residential hall and shopping mall were added to the north of the city map, with the shopping centre replacing the city’s original green area.
On the other hand, some original features were kept unbothered or experienced a slight change. While the train station is relocated closer to the city centre, the local university remains untouched, with only a tramline installed for easier access. Although the city centre still lies in the middle of the city map, its usage has been changed from an information centre to a bike rental area.
