The diagram illustrates the current layout of a town called Nelson and how it looked in 2000. Overall, this town has undergone significant changes since 2000, including the addition of a new train station, a tramline, and a bike rental scheme. The construction of a road for pedestrians only and the introduction of new facilities for different social purposes have also taken place.
In 2000, there was a city centre in the middle of the town, and to the left of it was an old market. Opposite the old market was a train station, while a university could be found in the north of Nelson. A garden was situated to the right of the university, while a road ran through the town from west to south. A port could be found in the south of the town.
Since 2000, much has changed. The city centre has been rebuilt to include a bike rental scheme, while a new train station has been erected opposite it. A new tramline has been built leading to the city centre. The garden has been converted into a new shopping centre, while a new covered market has been built in the east corner. A hall of residence has been constructed to the left of the university. The old train station has disappeared and to the left of the city centre, a new shop has been built where the old market once stood. The road for traffic vehicles has been removed to make way for pedestrians. A new restaurant, together with new bars and clubs, has been erected along the port. The other parts remain unchanged.
