The maps represent a comparison of Riverside town in 1970 and 2009.
Overall, Riverside town underwent almost total transformation, with some of the initial areas being expanded, such as Central business district, and faced the appearance of the new facilities, which increased the level of urbanization in the town.
In the center of Riverside town, alongside the river, the Central business district was located. From 1970 to 2009, the district faced changes in its size, becoming larger at the end of the period. In the north-east part of the town was an undeveloped land in 1970. In 2009, however, the land was converted into luxury residential housing area and an airport. Another new facility, golf course, was added in 2009 in the east part of the town, between the airport and the river.
In the north sector, nearby the river, new residential housing area was built in 2009. Moreover, a new triangle-shaped high-speed rail link was constructed at the end of the period, linking three areas: central business district, new residential housing area, and golf course. However, located in the west part – residential housing area – did not experience any changes. Similarly, the recreation area, aituated in the south part of the town, did not change at all, despite being slightly relocated because of the expansion of the central business district.
