The maps below illustrate the current layout of Huntingdon and the proposed changes for the future
Overall, there will be various changes on the right of the plan while the opposite site will remain unchanged with the road being the significant change
Currently, there is a complicated ring road covering Huntingdon from other parts with various services. From the A1, people can reach 2 main areas: the airfield to the northwest and the town center to the east, via Brampton Road. There is a railway station south of the town center, providing easy access for residents, and a built-up area with homes and shops to the northeast
In the future, the airfield will be replaced by an industrial estate. Additionally, a roundabout will be added at the junction of the A1 and Brampton Road, and the road A1 will be connected directly to the town center. The ring road will also be extended to fully encircle the town center and built-up area. These changes aim to improve transport and accommodate industrial growth
