The map below illustrates a section of the town of Poulton as it appeared in 1990 and 2021.
In 1990, Poulton was primarily characterized by its terraced houses. The town featured two main streets: Trent Street and Bayley Street. On the northern side of Poulton, there was a factory alongside a wasteland. The eastern side housed a shop, a laundry, and a café, while the southern side included a railway line and a cottage designated for railway workers.
By 2021, Poulton had undergone significant transformations. The terraced houses were replaced with flats, and Trent Street was renamed to Bayley Street. The factory and wasteland were converted into mansions, although the café and laundry remained. Additionally, the southern side of the town was entirely replaced with a park and a children’s play area. A new lane was introduced as a third street, which now features three shops.
