The map illustrates the changes that have taken place in a certain area of a town called Poulton between 1990 and 2021.
Overall, it is evident that there were quite some changes to the depicted area of the town of Poulton. Firstly, it can be seen that the single streets were connected to create one common road network. Secondly, the area expanded its offerings with regards to residential space. Thirdly, the former railway line was removed and replaced with a park and a children’s playground.
In 1990, Bayley street, which is located in the centre of the area, was not connected to the close street, called Trent street. This changed by 2021 and both streets were connected to form the new Bayley street. Furthermore, the street was also expanded with a new lane in the southeast.
The railway line in the south of the area was removed and a new park, called Bayley Street Park, was created. Furthermore, next to the park, a playground for children was constructed.
In the north of the area, the factory and the houses close to Bayley street were removed and a couple of mansions were built. The single detached houses in the west of the are were replaced with three apartment buidlings.
