The maps illustrates a small town Islip, it’s present form and planned future developments.
Overall, it can be clearly seen that, the Islip which is now a small town centre will be transformed more into a bustling commerical area with various amenities. The main change incorporated will be the modernization of main roads into dual carriageway.
The Countryside and the shops on the northern side will be removed and new facilities like a bus station, a shopping centre, a car park, and new housing will be introduced. The major change would be the conversion of main roads into pedestrians allowing no vehicles into the center area.
The features of the southern region will witness only few renovations. Shops adjacent to the main roads will remain the same. The housing area will be reduced to half accommodating new houses at the southeast. The area of the park will be reduced. The major new refurbishment is the network of dual carriageway connecting the whole town. The school towards the southwest area will remain the same.
