The diagram illustrates the present and future layouts of the centre of Islip, a small town.
Overall, various infrastructures are planned to be installed whereas some current buildings will be replaced. Additional roads and amenities are also in the works for the future development of the town. Furthermore, creating pedestrian safe pathways is included in the forecasted blueprint.
The centre of Islip now, contains very few outlets for the public which include rows of shops lining both sides of the main road towards the north of the map, a park on the lower east side and a school adjacent to the park. At the northwest part of the town lies the countryside whereas the centre of the layout is currently occupied with housing accommodations.
Turning to the development plans for the town centre, a bus station, shopping centre, and dual carriageway are new inclusions to the town. The countryside from before is removed and replaced with a bus station at the west end. Next to the bus station, a shopping centre and carpark are planned to be built. The main road will also be changed to a pedestrians only footpath and there will only be one row of shops towards the south of the footpath. The school, park, and housing will remain unchanged. However, new housing accommodations will be available next to the park.
