The illustration displays the differences in the functional area of a museum in 1988 and after the changes in 2008.
Overall, it can be seen that the permanent exhibition room made room for the restaurant and a temporary exhibition room, enlarging the left side of the museum with functional space. On top of that, new areas were introduced, alongside getting rid of several areas, besides that some areas were shrunk or enlarged for the decorations.
To begin, getting rid of the permanent exhibition room opened up space for the new restaurant, and the temporary exhibition room was relocated, right below the restaurant.
Besides that, in 2008, the floor plan introduced new areas into the museum, such as fountains, right in the middle of the museum, which replaced the garden. Furthermore, most areas either became larger or became shrunk in size. The WC, shops, the coatroom, and the permanent exhibition room on the right all became larger, whereas the cafe, although it had outdoor area in 2008, and the temporary exhibition room moderately became smaller in area.
