The three maps show Meadowside Village and Fonton, a neighbouring town, and illustrate the changes that happened to them in three different years 1962, 1985 and the present.
Overall, the size of the two places has increased over the years until they became one and Meadowside Village converted to be a suburb. Also, there have been tremendous changes in the infrastructure, housing and facilities over the specified years.
In 1962, there was no connection between Meadowside Village and Fonton. Fonton had a railway line running through the town from the north to the south, meanwhile, Meadowside village, which is in the west of Fonton town, had only a small road that crossed the village from the north to the west.
By 1985, Fonton and Meadowside had a lot of developments. Meadowside improved the small road to a main road, also an extension to the main road that connected Meadowside to Fonton. A set of facilities had been established in Meadowside: a housing estate in the east, a leisure complex in the north and a supermarket in the south.
Currently, Meadowside and Forton merged together which made Meadowside a suburb. An extension in the Fonton’s railway that reached a station that is situated between Meadowside suburbs and Fonton alongside the main road. A new facility was constructed in the north of the station, also a business bark was built on the opposite side of the road.
