The maps provided illustrate how the village of Meadowside and the town of Fonton have undergone changes from 1962 to the present.
Overall, Meadowside village significantly expanded and merged with Fonton. The area urbanised, with new infrastructure such as a hotel, business park, and railway station. Transport connections improved between the two areas.
One change that stands out is the ease of travel between areas, as the deficiency of roads connecting to the village in 1962, spurred area expansion, doubling its size at present. Owing to this merged stretches of urban and rural zones, transport infrastructure was implemented, so that railway stations and roads were constructed to connect them. As a result of this construction, residents could travel to and from the countryside of the town compared to the initial circumstances.
Another noticeable change was a wider range of facilities, urbanised by 1985, such as a leisure complex, housing estate, and superstore. To be more developed, changes were implemented with these buildings. At present, there is a business park, hotel, and renovated railway station.
