Band 6: The maps below show the changes that took place at the waterfront area of a town called Darwin between 2009 and 2014. (User-Written IELTS Writing Task 1 Sample)

The given maps illustrate how a Darwin city’s waterfront area has been changed from the year of 2013 to 2014. Overall, it is clear from the layout that some structural improvement has been taken place in the central part of the waterfront region in 2014.

In 2013, a school building, two swimming pools, a lake, a relaxed area, and a fishing zone are placed on the top of the layout if it imagines as two splits, and the lake and relaxed area are bounded by a circular path. The bottom side of the map are occupied by a large volleyball playground. Meanwhile, its top portion has three residential buildings, and beside the buildings one swimming pool is placed. In addition, there is a narrow sea beach which is crossed on the right portion of the map.

After redevelopment in 2014, one swimming pool is added in the former relaxed place. Volleyball area is removed, and introduced a new university building with a large woodland. A footpath is paved within the woodland, and at the right end of the path, a national library is built. In addition, residential building amenities are increased by adding another three structures.
