The two maps represent the change made to the waterfront area of Darwin town from 2009 to 2014.
Overall, it is seen that the waterfront area of the town became more residential, with some new facilities being added. While almost all features remained untouched, the area was no longer industrial by 2014.
In terms of changes made on a land part of the area, in 2009 the area was dominated by industrial land, taking up most of the southern region, whereas in 2014 it was completely replaced by green space with many trees. In addition to the school and convention center, which were located in the north-west and north, respectively, a university building was built on the left side of the area. A lake was positioned just above the center surrounded by a few trees, a footpath, and an industrial area but by 2014 this area was replaced by a swimming pool. Also, there were two other swimming pools near the sea which remained untouched by 2014. The number of residential buildings that were located in the middle increased by the end of the period.
Regarding the sea part of the town, a fishing area that located in the north-east remained on the same place, while the were built a harbour, in order to have an access to the sea.
