The maps compare the two layouts of Riverside Park in 2010 with its current design,highlighting the major developments that have taken place
From an overall perspective, the park has undergone significant development, with addiction of new facilities and improved transportation. Additionally, a new cycle path has been created in the park to enhance residents’ overall well-being.
In 2010, the park featured a simple layout, with several trees in the southwest. A few facilities including parking and toilets were situated in the central part of the park. While the river was positioned at the top, the structures were surrounded by walking path. Moreover, the heritage railway was located on the right hand side of the map.
Today, the park has been modernized , with the addiction of new amenities like a cafe, hotel and new parking area. While the toilets and trees have remained relatively unchanged, the river has reduced in size for constructing a new cycle path. The configuration of street has also been changed due to construction of a new parking area and hotel. Despite these changes, the Heritage Railway has remained untouched.
