The following charts illustrate the town of Langley between 1910 and 1950.
Overall, the town of Langley has gone through a major overhaul and modernization process for a more family-friendly lifestyle for the residents instead of a industrial-profit zone for the economy.
In 1910, a factory and a wasteland was located on top of the housings at Sherman Street. Furthermore, below the houses there is another wasteland and a set of cottages for the railway workers due to a railway line that is located underneath them. Moreover, there are three different buildings located at the right side of Sherman Street; A store, a laundry and a cafe respectively. It is also worthy to note that the Sherman Street has no connections to the Jordan Street, located at the left of the map which only consists of houses all the way from the top till the bottom.
In the 1950, it is possible to observe several major changes to the town that have occurred in the following 40 year period. Firstly, the wasteland, factory and the houses that previously resided at had been demolished and three new mansion-like apartment complexes have been built, titled as “Sherman Mansions”. Moving below the Sherman Street, many houses, the wasteland and the cottages of railway workers with the addition of the railway line had been deconstructed.
