The maps compare the structural development and transformations of a river village in 1986 and today. Overall, the village has experienced a significant modernization and population growth, with the most noticeable being a great increase of houses and the disappearance of farmland.
In 1986, houses were just scattered around the post office, shops and primary school, all at the middle-north of the village, being connected by an only main road across the river Stoke from the top. There was a large house in a separate garden in the middle of the map, which is facing farming land sketching to the bottom of the village.
Today, to meet the requirement of population growth, the road has been expanded to the both sides, where houses are located next to each other along. The primary school has been expanded, in spite of the disappearance of old shops and farmlands. Additionally, the old large house has been used for retirement purposes.
