The maps illustrate some changes to Westport between 1930 to 2010.
Overall, the village experienced considerable changes during the period shown. The most noticeable differences between the two maps were the disappearance of the pebble beach, the natural harbour, the guest houses, the minor road, the local area, the relocation of the fishing boats, the fishing villages, the school, the shops, the houses, and the appearance of some new facilities.
As can be seen from the maps, the pebble beach in the northwest was demolished to make way for Sandy Beaches with a surf club inside. Besides, the fishing boats in the west were removed into the southwest, and the fishing villages were relocated to the centre by the sea. Surprisingly, the natural harbour in the southwest was destroyed to get more space for ferry.
Turning to the other features, the guest hotels in the north were transformed into luxury hotels and the swimming pool in the north next to the sea was constructed to cater to the customers. Additionally, the minor road in the centre was expanded with some new facilities such as local housing, hospital, mall, school, luxury condos, shops. Moreover, the local area with shops and houses in the southeast were knocked down and the Power Station next to the bottom sea was constructed. Finally, the airports, the taxis, and the bus stations were opened, while gated communities were set at the southern end so as to greet visitors as well as taxis entering the airport.
