The two pictures illustrate the development of a art gallery in Australia, comparing its layout from 1950 to present time.
In general, noticeable changes have been made to arrangement of this venue over the period shown. Notably, the main modifications have involved the expansion of art gallery and the addition of new facilities.
Analyzing the two maps in greater detail, in 1950, the art gallery was situated within a rectangular area with entrance on the south side. At present, the sculpture in the middle has been still in the same place. Additionally, the courtyard along the north has been removed to make way for a children art school on the left side, an Australian Aboriginal art in the center, and an Australian art on the right side.
Turning to the other facilities, a cafe in the west side has been reduced in size, providing room for a new toilet on the right side. To the south, the bookshop, and temporary exhibition have been remain unchanged. Finally, the early European art, and the middle European art on the east side have been still remain in the same place, while the Australian art on the south-east corner has been replaced by an Asian art.
