The provided plans illustrate the modification of Porth Harbour from the year 2000 to the present day. Overall, the pier witnessed significant alterations, including the renovation of several facilities and the introduction of new ones. Moreover, more recreational space was added to the area.
In 2000, there was a single dock in the north of the harbour, situated below a public beach. Today, while the beach remains unchanged, an additional dock was constructed to accommodate more passenger ferries. Moving to the west, there used to be a marina for private yachts, along with a bathroom and a car park connected to the main road. At present, there is a minor change, which is that the marina was switched to the south.
Turning to the other noticeable features, the destination for fishing boats has been replaced by the marina and relocated to the north. In the first plan, there was a castle in the most southeast part of the pier adjacent to another public beach. Now, the castle has been reconstructed into a hotel, while the beach is owned by the hotel. Furthermore, new facilities have been established: showers and toilets connected to the south car park, plus cafes and shops near the life.
