Overall, the docks have been modernized significantly, with the removal of industrial facilities such as cranes and warehouses, and the construction of new residential, recreational, and educational facilities. The river area has also been enhanced with improved infrastructure, including a bridge and a river walk.
In 1980, there were three cranes on each side of the river, alongside several ships moored along the docks. To the north of the river, there were two warehouses, while another warehouse and a crane were located to the south. The area appeared to focus primarily on industrial purposes.
At present, the docks have been transformed. On the northern side, the warehouses have been replaced with an education centre and a children’s playground, and a sailing club has been constructed between these new facilities. To the south, the warehouse has been replaced with apartments, and a hotel and parking lot have been newly built nearby. Additionally, a river walk has been developed along the southern riverbank, and a bridge now spans the river, improving connectivity. A Ship Museum has also been introduced, replacing the industrial ships that were previously present.
