The maps delineate the structural transformation of Happy Valley Shopping Center between 1982 and 2012.
Overall, it is manifestly evident that the area has changed dramatically to include variety of services. Of particular note is the fact that the erasure of the lake has created space for furniture retail section and parking lot section.
In 1982, the entire area was surrounded by leafy zones, with the lake located to the northwest of the map. The entrance area was situated to the western side of the shopping center, featuring lobby area, with toilets to the right and the coffee shop to the left. The central area was accompanied by an entertainment area and adjacent to it was the food store, alongside with the elevator to the south. At the top of the map, three various areas were lined up in a row, namely, sports store, electronics store, and furniture store.
Prior to 2012, although greenery zones almost remained the same, the furniture retail is located, where the lake used to be. The path, which brings to the entrance was also removed and parking lot created instead. Toilets and entertainment area remained unchanged, but the lobby area and coffee shop were vanished from its position. At the expanse of food store, sports and electronics stores were built, expanding its services. At the top of the area, themed restaurants replaced previous location of three services and the additional area was inserted for the food store section.
