The map illustrates the changes to the museum ground floor between 1950 abd the present day.
Over all, the original courtyard had been rebuild to allow for the expansion of new infrastructure. More over, the cafe have shrunk in size to accomodate a toilet. Lastl, the art sector of the museum have been rearranged.
In 1950, the museum have a long and narrow courtyard at the back. But as of now, it have been repurposed into three new sections ( children art school, Australian Aboriginal art, and Australian art). On the right handside of the map, the museum previously had early, mid European art and Australian art. At the present, the Australian art have been replaced with the Asian art.
Since the 1950 to the present, there has not been a noticible change. The Temporary Exhibition and the bookshop remains the same. However, the cafe have halved in size to make room for a toilet.
