The line graphs give compare the costs of rice exports per month from Vietnam and Thailand between 2012 and 2015, at one-year intervals.
Looking at the illustration, it is immediately evident that the price of rice exports in Thailand was higher than that of Vietnam throughout the period. Additionally, most yearly rice price surveyed in Thailand showed an overall upward trend, whereas the opposite was true for those from Vietnam.
In 2012, in Thailand, the figure for the year 2013 dominated the chart at approximately 550 million dollars per tons, followed by 2012 period at more than 500 million dollars. Meanwhile, there were roughly 450 and 400 million dollars in terms of 2014 and 2015 period, respectively. Despite dramatic drops in rice price, 2012 period soared and surpassed the year 2013 to register the biggest figure in the chart at 550 million dollars. The figure for the year 2013 plummeted and reached the lowest point at 400 million dollars. Notably, the 2014 and 2015 period simultaneously experienced a significant increase and get nearly 470 million dollars. In addition, most years changed dramatically during the beginning and ending of each year, while the period from april to june saw the stability in all of years.
In Vietnam, the costs of rice exports in 2012 topped the list, accounting for 400 million dollars, compared with that in 2013 at around 370 million dollars. Meanwhile, the rice price in 2014 and 2015 was roughly 330 and 300 million dollars, respectively. The 2012 period declined in rice costs and was comparable with that of 2014, which remained relatively stable at 370 million dollars. Rice price in 2012 experienced an exponential growth and became the biggest of the chart at 400 million dollars. Besides, the rice price in 2014 dropped slightly and reached at 350 million dollars.
