The line graph illustrates how natives from the UK, Asia and other regions lived in Australia over the years. It also depicts the population trend of immigrants in the continent over the time.
The graph clearly depicts how population of different ethinicities varied over time in the country. Although the people from the UK were higher in 1976 ,the popularity of asians grew over time and outnumbered the former in the late 1990s, and continued to become the most common immigrant .
Initially, during the half of 1970s, most of Australia’s immigrants were from the United Kingdom accounting nearly 15 percent of total population of in the country. While people from other regions were more than 10 percent, the asians were merely less then 5 percent. The british population declined gradually over the period 1976-2011. Population of people from other region diminished before rising to reach a peak (nearly 15 percent) in 2006 and later it started to decline. Asians continued to became more popular to outnumber the british in 1997 and all other people in 2009.
