Australia saw minimal change, with figures rising only slightly from about 58% to 60%, and it maintained the highest rate throughout the period. In contrast, South Korea recorded the lowest proportion in 1980, at approximately 15%, before doubling to 30% in 2015.
Turning to the other countries, percentage of women in france rose slightly from nealry 50% to 55% over the years. In the UK, the proportion of women entering higher education rose dramatically, increasing from about 35% in 1980 to approximately 55% in 2015.
