The graph below illustrates the total usage of renewable energy between 1971 and 2011.
From an overall perspective, it can be seen that Finland got the highest number of using renewable energy. To be more specific, starting the period with 25% of total amount of renewable energy, Finland steadily declined to about 16% in the period of 1986 to 1991, followed by a gradual increase to about 23% in 2011.
Generally, there are some references between Denmark and the US. Denmark began with 15% of the total, while the latter only accounted for around 3%. Both fluctuated throughout the time and ended with about 17-18%. Similarly, France and Germany got the same pattern through the period. At the beginning, France got a number of 7%, while Germany only had about 5% of the total number. Both of them had a slight decrease in 1986, then gradually increase to about 13-14% at the end.
It is clear that the UK had the lowest rate throughout the time. Starting the period with about 2%, the UK slowly extended to about 7% at the end.
