The pair of maps illustrates the changes in a University Sports Centre from 2007 to the present day.
Overall, it is clear that the sports centre underwent significant changes and was modernized in most areas, with the addition of new facilities such as a running track, a squash court, a first aid room, a clinic, a lab and two-storeyed teaching building, and the enhancement of the old buildings.
In the northern and central areas of the map, numerous dramatic changes were made to improve the quality of the sports facilities and teaching buildings. Firstly, the initial football pitch was constructed as a natural grass field in 2007, after being improved into a court suitable for all weather conditions, along with the addition of a running track around this area. Moreover, a teaching facility was extensively expanded, increasing from 20 seats to 47 seats, reflecting the growing demand. These changes were implemented in order to better serve both sports and educational activities.
In the southern areas, the sports centre underwent major changes with the replacement and addition of several new facilities. Particularly, a tennis court was transformed into a squash court, whereas a swimming pool remained in its original location. Noticeably, temporary teaching huts were converted into many modern facilities such as a first aid room, a clinic, a lab and two-storeyed teaching building. Hence, this area was comprehensively redeveloped into a more multifunctional and modern space.
