The two maps show the transformation of a city called Shipsmouth from 1995 to 2010.
Overall, by 2010 Shipsmouth had undergone a major change, retaining least of its facilities while becoming more diverse, modern and recreational. These transformation included the introduction of new amenities, such as, residential buildings, a shopping centre, a football stadium, an airport, skyscrapers, as well as a pub along with the removal of some existing places.
In 1995, Shipsmouth had a city centre, including a road which was laid from west to east in the middle and the railway station in the south of it. There were two wooded areas in both south-east and north-west corners. If we look at the left side of city centre, there was a manufacturing factory, and a sea. On the right side of the city centre we can see two houses and a church.
By 2010, significant changes had taken place in Shipsmouth. The road which was in the centre had been pedestrianized, and the railway line had been extended to the north as well. New apartment blocks and the airport had substituted for two wooded areas. Similarly, the shopping centre, the pub, skyscrapers and the football pitch had been added in the areas which were occupied by the factory, the church, and houses, respectively.
