The figure demonstrates the sequence of producing cherry jam. Overall, there are nine steps involved in the process, beginning with cherries being harvested and cooked with ingredients, and ending with cherry jam being labelled.
The first five steps are about how to prepare the cherries. Starting with spreading a sheet on the ground under the tree, which is shaken by an autonomous machine to get the cherries. After that, they are collected by using a lorry to convey to the truck for transport to the processing plant before removing the leaves and stems. Subsequently, the stone is taken out of the middle fruits with a metal spike.
The next four steps are about combining mixtures. There are 3 extra mixtures containing sugar, lemon juice, and pectin, pouring them into the cherry jam pot, then cook together. Following this, the quality of the jam is checked by the food quality inspector before putting it into each jar. Finally, stick the jars with a label.
