The chart compares the amount of carbohydrates, protein and fat contained in average diet, healthy diet and the diet for sportpersons.
Overall, the amount of carbs and protein decides what kind of diet an individual has, as amout of fat in all the three diets is very similar.
Average person’s diet consists of 40% carbohydrates. Same amout of protein is consumed by an average person and only 20% of fat finds it’s place on the diet. The amount of carbs consumed should be higher, 60%, for athletes, whereas the amount of fats in the diet compromises to 15% only. Quater portion of the diet of a sports person consists of proteins.
For an ideal diet of a healthy person, half of the food consumed should be carbs, whereas other half should be protein and fat, 30% and 20% respectively. An average person consumes less carbs than required and an athleat should consume more carbs than average.
