The pie charts compare three different countries in terms of their method used by students to book online English courses in 2009 and 2010.
Overall, all categories in all countries showed different trajectories. Notably, arrival method in Canada was relatively higher in the first year, while ‘other’ was comparatively small.
In Australia, arrival method was used by 26% of students in 2009, which later it increased to 30% in 2010. Booking by internet experienced a substantial growth from 24% in 2009 to 39% in 2010 of students. Remaining ‘other’ category and pre-book with agent exhibited decline throughout the period; from 23% in 2009 to 20% by 2010 for the former and from 27% to 11% for the latter, with the highest change among all categories.
Regarding the USA, pre-book with agent was the only method to witness a rise, starting at 24% in 2009; the figure then increased to 28% by 2010. Both internet and ‘other’ methods represented decline, from 26% to 25% for the internet, and slightly lower for ‘other’, starting with the same point and declining to 23% by the end of the period.
Lastly, Canada, was the country dominated in terms of booking by arrival method among all countries at 45% in 2009, after which it dropped to 26% in 2010. Followed by, relatively margin decline in internet method from 27% in 2009 to 25% by 2010. However, remaining ‘other’ and pre-book with agent methods surged during the period. While the figure for ‘other’ method increased from 6% in 2009 to 18% in 2010, students using pre-book with agent method surged from 22% to 35% during the same period.
