The pie charts illustrate the distribution of electricity production sources across four countries – India, Sweden, Morocco, and Vietnam – between 2003 and 2008.
Overall, there is a clear divide in energy reliance. India is heavily reliant on fossil fuels, whereas Morocco and Sweden prioritize renewable sources, specifically hydropower. Notably, nuclear power is not utilized by either Morocco or Vietnam.
India exhibits the highest dependence on fossil fuels, which account for 81% of its electricity production, while hydropower and nuclear power contribute only 15% and 4%, respectively. Conversely, Sweden is the least dependent on fossil fuels (4%). Hydropower is Sweden’s primary energy source at 52%, followed by nuclear power at 44%.
Regarding the remaining countries, Morocco relies almost exclusively on hydropower, which constitutes 96% of its output, with fossil fuels making up the remaining 3%. Vietnam shows a more balanced approach, with fossil fuels providing 56% of its power and hydropower accounting for the remaining 44%.
