The pie chart illustrates the major sources of energy consumption in a country in 2015, while the corresponding bar chart depicts how these five sources differed in four various sectors of the economy in 2015.
Overall, oil represented the largest portion of total energy consumption, while nuclear and renewable energy sources are equally divided and constituted the smallest share. Notably, oil and gas usage in some sectors is relatively higher, whereas, the intake of other three sources in various sectors is significantly lower.
Regarding the consumption of energy sources among different sectors, oil dominated overall sources by 40%, representing the largest share by considerable margin. Gas accounted for 25% of total, making it the second-largest category. Coal represented 15% of overall consumption. Whereas, nuclear and renewable energy each comprised equal proportions at 10%, together constituting the least used energy sources.
Looking at how energy consumption patterns changed across the sectors, usage of oil in transportation reached its peak by 50%. The intake of gas by residential area was highest among the other three sectors by approximately 45%. Industrial and commercial areas used equal amount of energy source of coal by 20%. Similarly, residential and commercial sectors consumed nuclear and renewable energy by 20% respectively.
