The pie charts illustrate the proportion of the world’s forests in five different countries.
Overall, while the share of forests of Africa emerges on a leading position, the proportion of timber in the North America was the highest. Notably, the share of countries was proportionally distributed in both statistics.
Focusing firstly on the world forest, Africa made up 27% and dominated the chart. This was closely followed by North America standing at 25%. Remainder countries constituted roughly equal proportions with exceeding by 2 percentage points each country. Among them Europe stood at 18% showing the highest percentage among last 3 countries.
When it comes to the share of timber, North America stood at 30% which was approximately threefold higher than that of Africa. South America and Europe share roughly equal proportions, with latter contributing one fifth of the chart. Asia made up exactly double the share of Africa. Their respective shares were 18% and 9%.
