The two pie charts illustrate the proportion of males and females arrested in the UK between 2015 and 2020, while the bar chart categorises* arrests by type of offence.
Overall, men were markedly more likely to be arrested than women, and their involvement was especially pronounced in breaking and entering and public intoxication. By contrast, female arrests remained comparatively low, with assault representing their most notable category.
As shown in the pie charts, almost one third of males 32%were arrested during this period, in contrast to only less than one tenth of females(9%), highlighting a threefold gender difference.
The bar chart reveals further distinctions. Among men, breaking and entering was the predominant crime at 37%, followed closely by intoxication (31%) and drink driving (22%). Women, however, recorded their highest proportion for assault (18%), slightly ahead of breaking and entering (17%) and intoxication (15%). Theft and “other” offences displayed minimal gender variation.
