Overall, the obvious tendency that can be seen is the fact that the percentage of males that had been arrested is significantly higher compared to the females. Another factor that can be seen is the most common cases in both male and female arrests was public intoxication and drunk driving.
In detail, more than 30% of male population in the UK has experienced being arrested and only 9% of the female citizens have been previously convicted. Regarding the reasons for arrest, equally both male and female ones have peaked at public intoxication, with the male arrests practically at 40% and female ones just reaching the 30%. The second highest reason was drunk driving, the percentage for male arrests being at over 10% and the female convictions over 20%.
Similarly, the lowest rate for both female and male offenders is theft, equally floating just above 10%.
