The pie charts illustrate several countries (Canada, China, and others) that exported fish to the US, while the table gives information in terms of the total value (measured in billions of dollars) in three years (1988, 1992, and 2000).
Overall, the total value in 2000 was relatively higher than the previous years. In terms of the sources, Canada was the main source of fish in 1988. However, in 1992 and 2000 most imported fish came from the other countries.
According to the table, the total value increased steadily over time by approximately 2 billion each year, started with 6,57 billion in 1988, to 8,52 in 1992, and peaked at 10,72 in 2000.
In terms of the source of fish importation, in 1988, most of fish came from Canada (60%), while over a quarter from the other countries, and 13% came from China. However, in 1992, the imports from Canada decreased by around half, to 34%, while the other countries supplied 46%, and China took the remaining fifth after which it rose to 30% in 2000. Meanwhile, the figures in Canada and other countries remained relatively steady with a slight increase
