The first pie chart illustrates how the total spending of the world population is divided in different categories, the second one focuses on the distribuiton of the population among the continents, while the last one compares the consumption of resources in the Usa and Europe in contrast with the rest of the world.
More than half of the population lives in Asia, nevertheless Usa and Europe alone are responsible for 60% of the global consumption of resources, even if only the 28% of the global population lives in these areas. Africa accounts for 10% of world citizens and the remaining 5% is distributed outside of the major continents.
Moreover, looking at the first chart, food stands out as the leader category in world spending with 24%, followed by transportation at 18%. Housing and clothing play a minor role being only 12% and 6% of the total spending. The biggest slice is reserved to other types of goods, which accounts for 40%.
