Overall, it can be seen that swimming was the most popular sport in all three years, however tennis had the lowest percentage.Basketball replaced the “other” category to become the second most-favored sport in the final year.
Initially, swimming was the most favored in French secondary pupils in three years, with 39, 48 and 41 percent, for 1990, 2000 and 2010, respectively.In contrast, despite of and increase in 2010, tennis was the least favorite in each year, with 4 percent in both 1990, 2000 and 7 percent in 2010.
Basketball’s popularity had experienced a noticeable drop in 2000, from 16 percent to 7 percent, before it rose to 25 percent in the last year, replacing the “other” to become a second favorite.The “other” category was preferred sport after swimming in 1990 and 2000 with 25 and 23 percent, before decreasing slightly to 19 percent in 2010.The footballs popularity remained among the lover ones in all three years with 16, 18 and 8 percent, respectively.
