Overall, swimming was the most popular sport in all three years, while tennis consistently had the lowest participation. Basketball experienced substantial growth by the end of the period, whereas football and other sports became less popular.
In 1990, swimming accounted for 39% of student participation, followed by other sports at 25%. Basketball and football were equally popular, each making up 16%, while tennis represented only 4%. In 2000, swimming rose significantly to 48%, accounting for nearly half of all participants. Football increased slightly to 18%, whereas basketball fell sharply to 7%. The proportion for other sports also declined slightly to 23%.
By 2010, swimming remained the leading sport despite falling to 41%. Basketball recovered dramatically to 25%, becoming the second most popular activity. In contrast, football dropped to 8%, and other sports decreased to 19%. Tennis rose modestly to 7% but remained the least popular choice.
