The diagrams below provide the data on distribution of different fuel kinds used in Australia in 2008 and predictions for year 2030.
Generally speaking, all the types can be split into several groups by the width of their consumption. The overall trends vary for different groups.
In 2008 oil and coal formed 71.50% in total, being and obvious majority. Gas was only 22.90% which is still more than 4 times greater than 5,6% for renewable and “Other” sources of energy altogether. This way, gas, oil and coal could be united into one group of the most widely consumed fuels. This will stand for 2030 with a non-significant shift in distribution.
The change will be the most noticeable with coal, used of which will decrease from 39% in 2008 to 27% in 2030. Gas will go up by 9.10% from 22.90% to 32%, while oil will stay approximately the same with an incline of 3% from 32.50% to 35.50%. Renewable sources of energy will become several times more popular in 2030 than they were in 2008, but it still will be only 6.20%. Other sources of energy will go down to 3.60% from 3.80%.
