Overall, it is obvious that housing expense made up the largest share in 1950, while the dominant category in 2010 was food expenditure. In contrast, health care made uo the lowest percentage in both years.
It is conspicuous that housing expense represented almost four thirds of all expenditure in 1950 by overtaking others. However, this number plunged more than three times to 22% in 2010 and lost its leading position. Conversely, food made up 11,2% in 1950 and this figure overtook the others in 2010 by rising to 34%.
On the other hand, expenses on transportation and others increased more than four times over the period from 4.4%, 3.3% to 19.2%, 14%, respectively. Moreover, spending on education remained nearly same over the period. As for health care, despite a rise from 2.4% to 4.5% over the period, it still accounted for smallest share.
