Overall, there was an upward trend in the proportion of private cars, lorries and others remained relatively stable with slight growth. In contrast, the percentage of recreational cars declined sharply and public transport were taking up a decreasing amount percentage in main road bridges.
The number of private cars became overwhelmingly dominant. There was a steep increase in the proportion, beginning at 47% in 1965, then increased sharply 21% in 1985, and then rose slightly to 69% in 2005. During 40 years, there was a slight increase in the percentage of lorries and others, from 13% in 1965 to 14% in 1985 and 16% in 2005.
On the other hand, before increasing minimally to 14% in 2005, the proportion of recreational cars decreased rapidly to 12% in 1985. In addition, the number of public transport underwent a rapid decline 13% from 1965 to 2005
