Overall, although the percentage of people following face to face courses has dropped significantly over three decades, still, more students chose it compared to other courses. Also, with technological advancements online courses were introduced in 1994, though dropped in percentage in next decade.
In 1984, 67% of the courses followed by students were face to face, however, in next decade, the percentage plummeted to 54%. Conversely, mixed media courses’ numbers slightly increased from 13% to 15%, whereas correspondence courses’ remained the same at 20%. Notably, online courses were introduced in 1994 securing 11%.
Furthermore, in 2004, percentages of online, correspondence, and face to face courses declined to 10%, 15%, and 40%, respectively, while mixed media courses’ scales arose to 35%, securing the second most popular type of course only behind face to face.
