The pie graph indicates the forms of transportation workers chose to get to work in the city of Rockingham.
Overall, automobiles remained the major choice for most workers both in 2005 and 2015. However, the percentage of automobile usage decreased significantly, while the number of people who cycle to work has increased. It also reveals that more and more people are working at their own homes instead of going to the company.
In 2005, driving alone was the choice for half of the workers, with carpooling following. About 15 percent of workers chose the bus as their transportation. Both cycling and walking had 5 percent of the proportion. Besides all of them, there were 10 percent of workers who worked at home and didn’t need any transportation.
In 2015, changes happened to the forms of transportation. The usage of cars, both in personal driving and carpooling, had a sharp decrease, while bus and walking remained at a stable percentage. More people chose to cycle to work or just work at home, although car was still the major choice. More and more workers tended to use different ways of transportation.
