The pie charts provide the information about the students’ ways of reserving English courses in three countries: Australia, USA, Canada, across two different years- 2009 and 2010.
Overall, in 2009 the foreign students from Australia, USA and Canada experienced the different patterns of choosing the methods of buying the English lessons: Australians preferred pre-booked with an agent, people from the USA used the Internet and other, while Canadians picked the arrival. By 2010 the situation changed and Australians chose the arrival method, USAs and Canadian students selected the pre-booked with an agent.
Australian students opted to pre-booked with an agent in 2009, like people from the USA and Canada in 2010. The smallest percentage was others, accounting for 23%. The Internet had the lower percentage then and arrival, 24% compared with 26% . During the 1 year period, the rate of the Internet increased sharply to 39% and arrival boosted to 30%. Percentage of USA students of all methods resembled very similar in 2009, while in 2010 the pre-booked with an agent rose to 28% and the Internet and others decreased.
international students from Canada followed the opposite trajectory. Others saw the lowest percentage among other types of picking the English educational course in 2009 and 2010 years, constituting 6% and 18% . Arrival was the most popular way of choosing the course beyond all countries in 2009, although the pre-booked agent method had the biggest percentage – 35%.
