The pie charts depict the methods of booking online English courses including arrival, pre-booked with agent, Internet, and others by students studying overseas in Australia, USA, and Canada between 2009 and 2010.
It can be seen from the graph that there was a dramatic increase in Australia’s English registration via Internet, whereas the significant variations were seen in Canada in arrival and pre-booked with agent. The USA witnessed a minor alteration throughout the period from 2009 to 2010.
The online English courses booked through the Internet by students in Australia surged from 24% in 2009 to 39% in 2010 as opposed to a downward trend of 16% registered in pre-booked with agent by students studying abroad in Australia. The period between 2009 and 2010 witnessed a slight acceleration of 4% in arrival of that. The figures for students booking via Internet and others in the USA were almost equal, at around 26% in 2009 before declining minimally to 25% and 23%, respectively. The figures for pre-booked with agent by students studying English courses in USA witnessed a gradual climb to 28% in 2010.
In terms of Canada, the arrivals in 2009 ranked the first English course booking with 45%, compared to the students booking courses through Internet with 27% at the second position in 2010 before dropping to 26% and 25%, respectively. The others in English booking courses in 2010 constituted 18%, three times as high as that in 2009.
