The pie charts compare how countries such as the United Kingdom, the Republic of Korea and Sweden manage harmful waste materials using five different methods.
Overall, disposing waste by underground, by fire and recyling are the most common ways among five methods used to dispose waste. The United Kingdom prefers incineration method whereas, Sweden buries underground and Korea recycles most of its products.
In the United Kingdom, hazardous waste products is destroyed by fire, accounting for 82%. 8% of such materials is dumped underground, followed by dumping at sea, which also represents the similar amount. The proportions of other two methods used by the UK are almost neglectable.
In constrat, recycling of the harmful materials is the most used way in Korea, accounts for 69%, compared to the underground method which represents 22%. The incineration is the least common way used there. Sweden uses the landfil method to manage its hazardous waste products, which is the highest proportion dumped by this method, representing 55%. Recycling and incineration are used upto 25% and 20% respectively.
